The Wheat Conundrum
In the U.S., acres planted to wheat are declining, due in part to lack of research into developing new, improved varieties of wheat. Also, farmers are able to grow crops such as soybeans and corn that are more profitable. This "Wheat Conundrum" was addressed by the Kansas City AgriBusiness Council on Oct. 15. Daren Coppock, CEO of the National Assn. of Wheat Growers and Justin Gilpin, CEO of Kansas Wheat, were key presenters.
