HPI: Making Doubled Haploids

Heartland Plant Innovations, Inc., is making "doubled haploids" for wheat breeding, shaving from 5-7 years off the time needed to develop new varieties of wheat. HPI is majority-owned by the Kansas Association of Wheat Growers and Kansas Wheat Commission, and based in Manhattan, Kansas.

HPI uses a mix of known and proprietary DH technology to create these doubled haploid varieties for private, public and government wheat breeders.
