Risk Management & Crop Insurance
The KAWG supports the development of risk management tools that insure
crops for production risks with regards to quality (November, 2006).
The KAWG supports the timely development of new and evolution of current risk management products to better meet producer needs (planting and reporting dates, arbitrary lines dividing production management practices, de-minimus yields), developing risk management coverage for crop quality losses, producer education on risk management alternatives and instituting a state level producer advisory committee. (November, 2006)
The KAWG supports that if a county is declared as a disaster, then the Risk Management Agency would plug in full t-yield or the farmer's actual production history (APH), whichever is higher. (November 2006)
